SETH LAKEMAN,


another week of minimal posting, for that, i apologize. there's been a lot of other stuff going on over the last couple of weeks but july should be feature fantastic, making up for june's drought after alter electro.

seth lakeman, english folk singer, has been making music for a long long time. back in 1994 he and his brothers released the critically acclaimed LP "three piece suit" and later released three more albums before seth's first solo outing in 2002. lakeman has a rabid UK fanbase and all of his recent solo tours have sold out, but he has never broken into the US scene.

his most recent release "poor man's heaven" is a beautiful modern slant on country/irish folk. while a lot of folk albums drone on, each track being just a few minutes too long and too often repetitive verses pale into dullness. seth however has perfected folk writing for the MTV generation, short, snappy and with interesting melodic violin hooks, and most importantly, songs that end naturally.
