kimya dawson, the music of juno,

the second of the gigs on my radar at abc soon is kimya dawson. like many people, i first heard her music in the wonderful film juno, where she feautured heavily in the soundtdrack. although sounding about 15 when she sings, kimya is a veteran musician, she has 5 solo albums and used to be in a group called moldy peaches, you've probably heard of them. a moldy peaches song is also included in the juno soundtrack, in fact it's one of their songs that juno and bleaker play together in the last scene.

kimya's lyrics are full throttle fast and razor sharp witty, managing to be humourous and sweet simultaneously. so check her stuff out, the myspace is above and i've given two of kimya's tracks off the juno soundtrack below, the title track "loose lips" and her moldy peaches offering "anyone else but you". i'm also going to add the cat power track "sea of love" just to round off the juno OST (it really has an outstanding soundtrack) i love this song more than chocolate, honestly i nearly cried when it played in the film (and movies don't make me well up very ofetn, except the lion king obviously). stay safe.
