mystery jets round two,

i've been listening to "21" for about 3 weeks now (thankfully managed to get my hands on a leak) and without being in the slightest bit disingeneous and with no exaggeration i can say it's the best album this year. yup, it's better than lightspeed champion, better than vampire weekend, better than blood red shoes, mystery jets have pulled it off. and the new single "two doors down" isn't even one of the best track off of it. it is a great track don't get me wrong, but the album's of such a high standard that it's a tough fight for the limelight. channeling the 80s synth/jaunty guitar sound, the track is supremely produced by erol alkan and the jets' love of mixing up lead signer duties continues. i almost feel guilty for not falling in love with mystery jets earlier, it takes a while sometimes. the videos great too, 80s-rific, saved by the bell anyone?

it's all very pop lovely. nothing against an album full of love songs though. nice to see a scene band that don't think it all "cliché".

doanload: mystery jets - two doors down

in other news, thats me back home for summer (mostly) and with all the job applications handed in and an interview today all there is to do is sit and wait. so my songwriting project might finally get recorded and uploaded in the coming week. one tracks down, not sure if i'm happy about the recording quality yet. stay tuned.
